Mind the Avalanche

Mind the Avalanche

Most avalanche fatalities in North America result from slab releases triggered by either the victim or a member of the victim's party. The question is why do avalanche victims sometimes look at clear evidence of danger but don't "see" it? And why do other victims sometimes see and understand the signs but ignore them anyway. Mind the Avalanche is an online avalanche training course that attempts to change people’s perception and attitudes by educating them about human factors, risk management and decision making strategies.
