Discovery Pathways: Developing science thinking In children By mapping connections in museum
Discovery Pathways reframes children’s museum experiences as a journey where each exhibit is connected and related, rather than as a series of isolated phenomena. This interaction gives children an identity as a scientist as they creatively ask questions, gather evidence across exhibits and create grand theories and explanations. Discovery Pathways uses RFID technology to let children track and create their own path through the museum floor as well as view the paths of other visitors. These pathways will then be used to help children create a narrative about their museum experience with the ultimate goal of gaining experiences in scientific thinking.
