Domain Change: Career transition for creatives

Many aspiring career changers don’t realize that many roles in software development and design require other skills besides being an expert programmer. Creative people with humanities backgrounds offer valuable skills from other domains. Women in particular are underrepresented in the tech sector and seek ways to expand their skill sets and translate what they do well into new positions. This interactive, online course prepares students for networking and interviews by increasing self-awareness, knowledge of tech jobs, transferable skills, and strategies for telling a career change story. The course is informed by transformative learning theory and features self-assessments and peer review.
