Polymath: Preschool counting you can feel

In order to be ready for kindergarten at age 5, preschoolers need to learn a number of early numeracy skills, such as counting to 20, demonstrating one-to-one correspondence when counting, and comparing the size of different groups of objects. Plenty of preschool iPad apps attempt to teach these skills, but a touchscreen interface cannot provide as robust a representation of numeracy as interacting with real world objects. Polymath attempts to overcome this by combining the manipulation of physical blocks with the affordances of a digital interface, allowing preschoolers to solve math challenges using their head AND their hands.
