Standing up to Statistics
Did you know that 72% of all articles published in TIME Magazine contain some kind of statistic? Probably not since that statistics was made up. But perhaps like many people, you accept a statistic because it seems reasonable. Now most statistics are not fictitious, though they can mislead and are often intended to prove arguments that they may or may be relevant to. Standing up to Statistics helps people analyze statistics by separating the numbers from the arguments. From there, the users can decide if the statistic supports the claim, thus developing a more critical perspective on statistical dependent arguments.
